Delilah in York

Delilah Dale sat on the train, looking out the window as the English landscapes rushed by.

She was on a train to a town called York in the Northern part of England. Delilah was from the big city, London. Delilah loved London with all the hustle and bustle. Her favorite part was the big London Eye in the center of it all.

Delilah had lived in Hyde Park but the problem was that London was so big, and she was so small. Also the annoying pigeons had gotten to her singing there songs of "my toe hurts bet-tee" from morning 'till night. So Delilah had decided to go explore a few towns to see if she could find a smaller, preferably quieter home.

'

An hour or so later...

Delilah stepped off the train onto the platform. She was in York!

Delilah then ventured to her hotel which was right by York's most famous monument, the Yorkminster.

After admiring the Yorkminster, Delilah's second plan of attack was... food! There was so much good food in York.

Nachos
Sugar Cubes!
Elderflower Bubbly
Soft Boiled Eggs... yum!
Lattes
Swiss Chocolate Torte from Betty's

Everywhere you went in York there was amazing food! Next thing Delilah had to find was a home.
Maybe she could live in the planter in Russell Square. Probably not big enough...

Or how about outside the castle. No, it's just above a highway so it would be loud.

Hmm... how about in this little nook hidden in the castle walls. Perfect.

Next, Delilah had to look for entertainment. She climbed all around the York Castle Walls. It was absolutely beautiful. Entertainment, check.

Finally, she had to look for some friends. She found old Henry in the hallway at the hotel but there seemed to be a lack of animals here (not including the pigeons.)

It still seemed a little to much like London with the crazy pigeons and the lack of other animals. So she decided to keep searching. Delilah can't wait for you to see where she ventures next!

  1. This is the first I knew that you have this new blog! I have a lot of reading to catch up on. I enjoyed reading about Delilah in York and seeing all the great photos. But you must explain “pigeon songs “my toe hurts bet-tee.” I am totally flummoxed about that!

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed the blog! The pigeons over in England sing a song that resembles the words "my toe hurts bet-tee" and once you hear it once it stays in your head forever (its quite annoying.) Thankfully, the American pigeons don't make that same sound.
